It's me- Beth, (and my helpers, Daisy and Zelda)

And this is my story: well part of it anyway

It was lunchtime on a sunny August day in 2005. I took off to see my son who was in college an hour away. We had not gotten along well until recently and what I was going to ask him was causing me a lot of anxiety. His answer would change everything!

What does this have to do with how I got here- creating digital graphics? Recently he and I were talking and he asked me if I had any regrets. My answer was, yes. I had a brief second marriage and that was what I went to talk to him about those years ago- instead of him being mortified that I wanted to get divorced AGAIN- he told me he was really glad-I hadn't been very happy for a long time. He gave me the power to proceed. My regret was that marriage.  He was quick to point out with all the wisdom of a 27 year old-that I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't been in that situation- and he was 100% RIGHT!

I started my stationery/invitation business in the attic of my home back then, it was a great escape and I worked 16-18 hours a day, 7 days a week and built a very successful business. And without that business, I would have never met my current husband (who is WONDERFUL!), he was one of the dealers who carried my stationery line. Although at the time I knew little about him, as we only spoke about orders occasionally, but one day I called about an order and he was unusually chipper on the phone. When I asked why he seemed so happy (I thought he was generally pretty grouchy-in a fun way), and he told me that he had just signed his divorce papers.  I told him I was going through yet another divorce myself and we should go have a drink and commiserate sometime- and as they say….the rest is history.

I sold my stationery business several years ago, spent a couple of years helping him get his website up and running, which is awesome, by the way - check it out

and then needing to be creative again, I began creating digital graphics. The PERFECT job for me- no inventory, no employees and no overhead!  HALLELUJAH!!!  I can do it at home in my pajamas if I want- although I still work long hours and usually 7 days a week, I am loving it. I have a great husband, a wonderful relationship with my kids who adore him too, and happily I can say, with the help of my son-NO REGRETS!

Things I LOVE:

* My fabulous, funny, understanding and super-talented husband, Alan

* My three outstandingly charming children-all out on their own!!! YIPPEE!!

*Daisy, my westie, & Zelda, my shih tzu- my cuddle buddies & helpers

* PINK!

* Drawing, painting, creating whimsical, fun graphics to sell

* Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls, candy bars, diet coke and red wine

* My gigantic Mac computer which helps my aging eyes to see better

* Listening to Adele, Jack Johnson, Hall & Oates, Black Eyed Peas, Oldies & other great music while I work

Things I DON"T Like:

* Mean people

* Peas, beans and a whole lot of other vegetables

* Waiting- in line, on hold, for an answer, on someone else- generally waiting at all! I am the QUEEN of instant gratification!

* Being frustrated, having my feelings hurt, not being able to design because of constant interruptions

* Being cold- ever. I LOVE summer!
